Sura al-Qamar (The Moon) is a Meccan sura and takes its name from the mention of the moon in the first verse.
The following refrain verse is repeated many times in this sura:
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Qur’an: will anyone take heed?
In Ghazali’s Ihyā’ ‘Ulum al-Din ‘Revival of the Religious Sciences’
One recurring theme in Surah al-Qamar is the concept of “warnings” and the consequences of not paying attention to them. The Qur’an asserts that when humanity fails to recognize and connect with the clear and numerous signs of God’s Oneness, we become deluded and misguided as we prioritize the material world over pursuing to become sincere servants of God.
