2018 – STUDLAND: SAUNTER ON THE ROCKS

For our seventh annual walk, we headed to Studland Beach and Old Harry Rocks, completing our journey across the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site, in Dorset.

SAUNTER ON THE ROCKS

As we crossed the beach and ascended the cliffs, surrounded by green hills on one side and the open sea on the other, we stopped along the route for short talks and Qur’an recitation. With the stunning Old Harry Rocks as our backdrop, we explored the concept of rocks and hearts, using related Qur’an ayahs.

“Even after that, your hearts became as hard as rocks, or even harder, for there are rocks from which streams spring out, and some from which water comes when they split open, and others which fall down in awe of God: He is not unaware of what you do.” Q. 2:74

THEME

During the course of the walk, teachers delivered short inspirational talks from the Qur’an and Hadith related to the concept of the heart.
